This policy explains how HADECK (“we”, “the app”) handles your information. Questions: support@hadeck.app.
Your drafts, notes, and saved pieces are stored locally on your device in an encrypted database. We do not upload, read, or store your writing on our servers — except for the specific text you choose to send when you use an AI feature (see section 4). You can write fully offline. HADECK does not offer cloud sync at this time.
You can write without an account. If you choose to use the optional AI features, you create a free account using your email address and a password, handled through Google Firebase Authentication. We use this only to identify your account and apply fair AI-usage limits. We do not use your email for marketing.
When you use an AI action (for example, improve, continue, or translate), the selected text is sent securely through our server to our AI provider, Anthropic, using the Anthropic API. The API is governed by Anthropic’s Commercial Terms of Service — which are separate from the consumer Claude terms. Under those Commercial Terms, Anthropic acts as a data processor, processes the text only to generate your result and, by default, does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models. HADECK itself does not retain the full text of your prompts or responses after processing; we keep only minimal coded usage records (which action was used, token counts, and success or failure) for up to 60 days, to enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse. We encourage you to review Anthropic’s Commercial Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (linked in section 7).
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect a limited set of usage and diagnostic information — such as when a writing session starts or ends, and crash reports — to keep the app stable and improve it. This data is associated with app or device identifiers (so it is not anonymous), but it does not include the content of your writing. We also use Firebase App Check / Play Integrity to confirm requests come from the genuine app and to block abuse.
We rely on these providers, each with its own terms and privacy policy:
HADECK relies on Google Firebase and Anthropic, which operate globally and may process and store data in multiple regions, including outside your own country (for example, in the United States). Where the option is available, we choose Indian (Mumbai) regions for our database and file storage, but some services — such as authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and AI processing — may process data elsewhere. By using the app, and the AI features in particular, you consent to this processing.
Your writing stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Minimal AI usage records expire automatically after about 60 days. If you created an account for the AI features, you can delete your account and its associated data at any time:
We use industry-standard protections, including an encrypted on-device database, secure (HTTPS) transport, and server-side handling of sensitive keys. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
HADECK is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
